2. Is there any registration fee for home chefs?
No. Voota does not charge any registration fee to join our platform.
3. What is the concept behind Voota – Veg Oota?
Voota connects home kitchens, local farms, and communities to deliver fresh, home-cooked vegetarian meals using plastic-free, insulated steel tiffins—ensuring healthy food and sustainable delivery.
4. What does “Farm to Home” mean at Voota?
“Farm to Home” means sourcing fresh ingredients responsibly and delivering meals directly from home kitchens to customers—reducing waste, middlemen, and environmental impact.
5. As a home chef, am I required to cook every day?
No. Home chefs have complete flexibility. You can choose when and how often you want to cook based on your availability.
6. Who decides the price of food items?
Food pricing is decided by the home chef, considering ingredient costs, preparation effort, and portion size. Voota may offer guidance to ensure fair and transparent pricing.
7. How does Voota ensure food quality?
We ensure quality through:
- Home chef onboarding and verification
- Hygiene and food safety guidelines
- Regular quality checks and customer feedback
- Fresh, made-to-order cooking practices
8. What about food packaging?
Voota follows a zero-plastic policy. Meals are delivered in insulated steel tiffin boxes, which keep food warm for over 4 hours and are safe, hygienic, and eco-friendly.
9. Why does a home chef need an FSSAI license?
An FSSAI license is mandatory under Indian food safety laws. It ensures food is prepared, handled, and delivered safely, protecting both customers and home chefs.
10. What is FSSAI?
FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) is a government body that regulates and monitors food safety standards across India.
11. What are the charges for an FSSAI license?
Basic FSSAI registration fees are minimal and affordable. Charges may vary based on the type of registration required.
12. I’m a home chef but don’t know how to get an FSSAI license. What should I do?
No worries. Voota will guide and assist you through the FSSAI registration process step by step.
13. How long does it take to get an FSSAI license?
Typically, a basic FSSAI registration takes 7–15 working days, depending on documentation and approval timelines.
14. Can customers place instant food orders?
Yes. Customers can place instant orders, subject to availability and serviceable locations.
15. How does Voota earn?
Voota earns through a service commission on orders placed via the platform, helping us manage logistics, technology, quality assurance, and customer support.
16. Is there any security deposit for the tiffin box?
Yes. To ensure the safe use and return of our insulated steel tiffin boxes, Voota collects a refundable security deposit of ₹500 at the time of subscription.
17. When will the ₹500 security deposit be refunded?
The ₹500 security deposit is fully refundable when you cancel your subscription and return the insulated tiffin box in good condition.
18. Will any amount be deducted from the security deposit?
No deductions will be made if the tiffin box is returned clean, undamaged, and complete.
In case of loss or damage beyond normal wear and tear, an appropriate amount may be deducted.
19. Why does Voota collect a security deposit?
The security deposit helps us:
